300 Gifts of Love from Miami to Samaná

We are Camila and Juliana Molero, and this summer we had the opportunity to visit The House Project’s initiative in Samaná, Dominican Republic, where we helped distribute clothes to families in need at a local church.

With the help of The House Project, we collected nearly 300 clothing items at our school in Miami, Florida.

Instead of just sending the clothes, we wanted to go in person to truly connect with the community. Being able to hand everything out face to face made the experience so much more meaningful. As someone who grew up Catholic, it was incredibly special to see how the people of Samaná live out their faith every day, even with limited resources. The warmth and kindness we felt from the pastor and church members was something I’ll never forget.

One of the most impactful moments for me was spending time with the children of the parish. Their energy and joy made everything we did feel so worth it. This experience filled me with gratitude and reminded me how powerful simple acts of kindness can be, and how easy it is to make someone smile. I’m excited to keep supporting The House Project and continuing this mission of service wherever I can.
